Can you recover outland cooking recipes from quests on WoW through a vendor?

I wasn't big on leveling cooking until now when I wanted the Winter Veil achievement. I decided I will continue to level it to 400. My next training is at 375, I'm at 325 and all my recipes are green.

I remember doing quests in the Outlands that gave you cooking recipes as a reward. Is there a way I can purchase it from a vendor? I checked the auction house already. Or is there a trainer to give you more recipes? The one in Dalaran don't have any more recipes until 375.

Check thottbot.com under cooking. Look for your level and see where you can get them. I know with my cooking I just visited all the different areas and picked up vendor recipes. I don't recall doing any actual outland quests for cooking just picked up from the vendors.

WoW? Why is my cooking skill stuck at 150/150?

I play a human rogue in the game and am closing in on a 40 level with my character. When I level my character up each time my skill leveling usually jumps up a bit more (with things like swords, maces, unarmed, etc.) , but the cooking, fishing, and first aid skills are just sitting there at 150/150. I have talked to profession trainers, but it seems like the only thing available to me being offered is that I can cook blood sausage at 200 level. I can't get past the 150 level though. What am I doing wrong? Is there some particular person I am supposed to talk to? I am buying recepies from vendors when I find them too, by the way. Also, what is with the gradual bumping up of what your topping out level is anyway? Why don't they just give you the final topping out level for each thing? I am still new to the game and can't understand some things about it. Someone clue me in please.
Thanks guys. all good answers.

Combat skills gain +5 max per XP level. This way, defence can be used as a meaningful stat, since a level 1 character can't get 350 in it.

The professions require you to find the correct trainer/item to unlock the next 75 points. In the case of First Aid, you have to find (or more likely buy in the Auction House) a particular book to let you go from 150-225, a specific trainer to go from 225-300, and another book to go from 300-375.

When in doubt, do a search on Thottbot or WoWWiki. Between the two, you can quickly find pretty much any information you could ever want on WoW. Thottbot tends to be better for getting quest info, while WoWWiki tends to be better for profession info.
