Hunter Mail Wow

In WOW, it says I don't have proficiency to use certain items, what do I do?

I am a level 6 hunter and it won't let me use certain armor etc. These armors require a level 3 but for some reason I can't use them. It says MAIL next to my items. What do I do? I'm getting really weak.

There are 4 types of armor - Cloth, Leather, Mail, and Plate. Different classes can wear different types.

As a Hunter, you can only wear Cloth and Leather. That is why you cannot equip it.

However, once you hit level 40, Hunters can learn how to use mail.
