Metal detecting on the beach.?

I am about to purchase my new MineLab Xterra 305. I wanted some tips for the beach. How far out from the strip should i be checking, the whole beach or the surf and 20 feet up from that. For the gold and jewlery that may be in the water, does that stuff get washed up on the shore by any chance?. Is every day hunting on the beach a new day?

The best thing to do is see where most people sit. Most jewelry will be there. There is usually kind of a line where most of the chairs are. That line is your best bet to finding stuff.

Can you help me with my HDMI cable purchase?

Just bought a 42' LG LED 240hz 2,000,000-1 contrast ratio

I need to buy 2 HDMI cables, 1 for the cable box, and 1 for the PS3...I know that my cable can only run in720p so I was going to buy a cheaper cable for the cable box (is this a good idea) I have comcast....but the for the PS3 it can handle 1080p so should I buy a more expensive cable for the PS3 to handle the 240hz refresh rate? Also I see some cables with silver or 24k gold tips...what is the difference between silver and gold and which one is better? I did some research and I see that everyone is saying they cant tell the difference with cables so buy the cheap ones...but i noticed most of them dont have the 240hz refresh rate or an LED so I dont want to cheap on my awesome man purchase! Can you please help? I need a 4 footer for the cable box and a 5 or six footer for the PS3...

In theory yes the better cable, like Monster Cable, should be better for transfering the information, however in reality, you will never know the difference between a RocketFish cable (Best Buy In House brand) and a name brand like Monster, you are paying extra for the name, in fact, RocketFish actually contracts out some of their production to Monster, so in the end you are getting the same product for less money

As for the 24k gold contacts, it's a personal opinnion thing, especially for somthing being used indoors, the contact is better, and they do not corrode for the 24k gold, however there is still contact with standard metal contacts (I prefer the 24k gold, mainly because it makes me feel better.

Finally for the refresh rate, a cable does not choose refresh rate, it just transfers the electronic pulses as they are recieved, you're cable box/Sony PS3 will choose the refresh rate based on what you tell it or which it thinks is best, any cable can transfer any refresh rate.

(I should probably tell you that personally I use Monster Cable, with 24k Gold contacts, however I have used a lot of the different brands, and unless you have a like $3,000 audio system with the volume cranked all the way, or a Super Expensive tv, not purchased at a Best Buy, Circut City, Target, WalMart etc, you will never be able to tell)
