1) Go and do an easier quest
2) Grind (Kill) MOBS until they are a higher level and attempt the quest again

(A MOB is basically any creature that you can kill within the wold of warcraft)

Some people do not complete any quests to get from level 1-80. Instead they kill MOBS over and over again until they have leveled up.

The big question is why do some people grind to level?

The answer is simple. It is a much easier way to level up. There are no quest tasks to complete, there isn't lots of running around. All you do is find a group of MOBS that you can kill quickly and repeatedly and keep killing them until you no longer gain exp for the kills. Once you reach the point where you get no exp from the kills you move on to a tougher, higher level group of MOBS and repeat the process.

Another advantage to grinding is that you tend to make a lot more gold by doing this. To reach level 80 you will have to kill 1000's of MOBS and each MOB killed is worth something. You loot every MOB you kill and then sell the loot either on the AH (Auction House) or to vendors. This is the main reason why some people prefer this method of leveling to the conventional. It also maximises the chances of gaining rare and uncommon items. The uncommon, rare and epic items drop at random and each one has its own probability of dropping. This means that if you are killing the same MOBs over and over again the chances are you will end up getting some pretty decent gear.

To maximise the amount of gold that you attain through grinding it is a good idea to have the skinning and mining professions. If you kill 100's of beasts you will get loads of leather which you can sell for a small fortune on the AH. Also mining is good because sometimes the best mobs to grind are located in caves, caves are a very good place to fine veins which can be mined for ore. Ore also sells for a high price.

If you are going to level up by grinding a good idea would be to get a few tools to help you. If you go to curse.com you can find many add ons that will be of benefit. The following is a list of add ons you can get from curse that will be of use;

1) Auctioneer (this is good because it scans the AH and suggests the best price for you to put your items on the AH at, can help you make loads of gold [loads of gold = better gear])
2) Loot count drop counter (this creates a database of drops that MOBS make. Every time you kill a MOB it adds the items that were dropped by that MOB and adds a percentage. The more MOBS you kill the more accurate it becomes. This is good because if you are after a particular item you can check the database and see which MOB you have the best chance of getting it from)
3) Killstolevel (this addon tells you and estimate of how many mobs you need to kill before you reach your next level)

Lastly if you are going to grind by leveling try to do the following, every time your bags are full go and sell the gear. Also make sure you keep your gear in good condition.

If you are going to grind to level in my opinion the best class to be is probably the hunter because they tend to make the best solos. My second choice would be the warlock class because like the hunter they can have a pet which will act as a tank and will prevent MOBs from attacking you.

What are some alternatives to LootLink for World of Warcraft?

I used to use LootLink for viewing and linking items within World of Warcraft. Telo no longer updates that addon. I have used Ludwig but do not like its slow loading time. Any alternatives to LootLink that would work with the newest patch for World of Warcraft? Also, a downloadable premade database would be nice.
I have tried Ludwig and do not like it. Atlasloot is for dungeon loot only. I want an in-game item database. ItemSync is no longer an option as it is no longer maintained.

I've never used Lootlink but try using Atlasloot if they are same thing.
