Can i change my race in World of Warcraft after WoW Clatacysm?

Does anyone know for sure if we can change our races after the new extension that blizzard just announced on there website (its for real). Will i be able to change my Blood Elf paladin to a Tauren one?

You will likely be able to change races before the expansion. Paid faction changes come sometime between now and Cataclysm, and paid race changes (within your own faction) will come after the paid faction changes.

I am fairly new to world of warcraft and want to know what would be the best alliance race and class.?

I have a lvl 62 DK, but i want a alt. What would be a really good class and lvl for an alliance character? Also what would be the 2 professions that i should have for him? thank you.

It depends on what you want to do. The most popular classes for grouping is healers and tanks. Paladins can perform both of those roles well due to dual/talent spec so they are always a good choice.
