Manuel Download of Quest Helper?

My friends just say that all i have to do is save and it will show up on my desktop then i extract the files and move them to wow interface addons (or something close to that)
but it doesnt show up on my desktop and when i move it there it doesnt EVER give me an extract files option. Iv been downloading it from http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/quest-helper.aspx and im running windows vista. i used to be able to use the curse client to download it for me but now i just get weird psyn link error message = (... plz help because its not just quest helper, i love to raid and i cant get omen threat or anything!!!

Click on download, then manual install. If it pops up a dialog box asking where to save, make sure it says Desktop at the top (or put it directly in your WoWInterfaceAddons folder). If it doesn't prompt you (e.g. using Firefox with default settings), cancel the download and right-click on 'manual install' and 'save as' and save to either directory.

Once saved, either minimize everything to desktop (if saved there) or to your addons folder; move it there, then right'click and choose 'Extract all' or "Extract all here' or whatever option appers; this will vary based on what programs you have installed. These instructions should also appear by clicking on 'install' tab underneath the addon data on the page before the actual download (the page you linked above).

Can you please help me with my WoW problem?

I downloaded the quest helper for WoW, the one from http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/quest-helper.aspx
I turned on my add-ons and made sure I had it checked, when i start WoW it says it has an error and it's out of date, usually it worked when it was out of date but now it doesn't. Is there a patch for it or something that I have to download? Please help me, I'm not very good at doing quests and finding my way around without it.

Heres a few suggestions what you can do.

Depending on when you downloaded the new quest helper (I am assuming you did right after 3.3) it could still be out of date. Since then there have been mini patches that fix bugs and small problems associated with the new patch. Simply redownload the newest version of questhelper.

Alternatively, in the add-ons button on your character screen, there is a toggle switch to 'Load Out-Of-Date Addons'. Turn this on, and although it is not up to date it should run as it used to.

If these both fail, completely erase Questhelper from your addon folder in (C:Program Files/World of Warcraft/ interface/addons). After doing this, restart the game. Notice that BECAUSE of mods like questhelper, Blizzard has added their own version, which works almost identically (and some may argue better) to QuestHelper. Because it is part of the original programming, there will be no memory used to run QuestHelper, and you still have features like dots and areas highlighted on your map indicating where you should go.
