Wow Expansion Cataclysm Worgen

Do I Need To Have -Played- Previous WoW Expansions to Play Cataclysm?

I'm completely new to WoW, and I've recently gotten interested since a friend of mine got Cataclysm and started a Worgen character, the race which I want to start out as.

You do not need to play the story of each expansion to play Worgen or Goblin, however you still need to pay for all the expansions.

If I want to become a Worgen in WoW do I have to have all of the expansions or just cataclysm?

Ok so I'm extremely new to World of Warcraft and I want my character to be a Worgen. It says I need cataclysm to become a Worgen. So all I need to do is buy Cataclysm and I should be able to pick the Worgen class?

You cannot install Cataclysm unless you already have Wrath of the Lich King installed. You cannot install Wrath of the Lich King unless you already have Burning Crusade installed. So yes, you need all the expansions to play a worgen.
